The Centre for Sustainable Healthcare secured funding at last Monday's Pitch Pledge Party Event for the promotion of retrofitting heat exchangers to kidney dialysis machines throughout the UK to achieve a 20% carbon cut in their emissions. We would like to say a big thank you to the funders,10:10, The Funding Network, The Guardian and all others who have supported us.
The Centre for Sustainable Healthcare’s project to support NHS organisations to retro-fit heat exchangers to kidney dialysis machines is one of three projects which are through to the final of the Pitch Pledge Party, a new 10:10 initiative.
This year, 10:10 is bringing together thousands of individuals and organisations from across the country to work towards a common goal - a 10% cut in the UK’s carbon emissions during 2010. The Green Nephrology programme is running its own 10:10 initiative and has produced a renal unit 10:10 action checklist.
