Word of welcome
As chairman of the International Programme Committee, it’s a great pleasure to write to you a short word of welcome regarding the first European Medical Waste Conference in the Amsterdam RAI (EMWC 2009).
It was early 2008 when we decided we should bring all the worldwide knowledge and experience concerning medical waste management together into a conference. Medical Waste Management is an important issue and interest from the national and international authorities is still increasing; the enthusiasm we are getting from the authorities shows this.
During the conference, different European countries will have their own separate national programme where topics such as regulation and new market trends will be discussed. The topics will be selected by a national committee consisting of experts and authorities.
There will also be a strong international programme with educational topics selected by an international committee.
The educational programme will be announced in April. Beside education, the EMWC 2009 will host an exhibition for industry to show their products, services and innovations.
Please feel free to make recommendations for our programme. I hope to welcome you during the first European Medical Waste Conference in the Amsterdam RAI.
