on the web

The NHS is reportedly wasting around £1million of food each year. A reduction in food waste can lead to financial savings & a reduction in carbon emissions. The network in sustainable solutions, 2 degrees, in partnership with The Campaign for Greener Healthcare has set up a webinar on reducing food waste in the NHS. The two speakers will be Geeta Kulshrestha from Waste Watch and Mike Pearson from the Cornwall Food Programme. Geeta will look at how NHS Trusts in general can reduce their food wastage and Mike will give a practical example including the particular challenges, successes and lessons learnt by the Cornwall Food Programme in reducing their food waste without compromising the sustainability & healthiness of their food provision.
