What do NHS organisations need to do in light of the Climate Change Act?
The Climate Change Act is the first legislation of its kind in the world, establishing a long-term legal framework to tackling climate change. The NHS needs to achieve at least a 10 per cent reduction in emissions by 2015 compared to 2007 levels and NHS Sustainable Development Unit launched the NHS carbon reduction strategy in January 2009.
World Environment Day, commemorated each year on 5 June, is one of the principal vehicles through which the United Nations stimulates worldwide awareness of the environment and enhances political attention and action.

This is an open meeting of public health educators in undergraduate medical education. It is the fifth in a series of annual meetings at which teachers in public health and related disciplines from medical schools across the UK share their ideas and expertise to enhance public health learning.
