The Green Stars Initiative is part of the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare’s vision for sustainable kidney services. Green Stars provide a way for renal teams to demonstrate their achievements against a set of national criteria.
Criteria
- Nomination of a staff representative
- Nomination of a patient representative (by the KPA)
- Submission of a Green Action Plan (including information on process for review & implementation)
- Submission of a case study to the Green Nephrology case library within the last 12 months
Process
Local renal services – as listed by the Renal Registry, including satellite units - are eligible to apply to participate in the Green Stars initiative.
Applicants should complete the application form and provide evidence as indicated. Once completed the information should be forwarded to stars@sustainablehealthcare.org.uk. Your application will be acknowledged and following review of your submission stars will be awarded as appropriate and you will be notified of your achievements.
Achievements will be recognised at http://www.sustainablehealthcare.org.uk/green-nephrology/kidney-units with case studies made publicly available via http://map.greenerhealthcare.org/green-nephrology-projects . This will support in the sharing of knowledge to allow us to accelerate our efforts in sustainable healthcare.
Maintenance
Your status can be updated within the year on notification of the Green Nephrology team of a change in criteria to stars@sustainablehealthcare.org.uk. Records will also be reviewed annually.
