The Centre for Sustainable Healthcare (CSH) is looking for three Nature Recovery Rangers and one Senior Nature Recovery Ranger to join our team! If you’re passionate about biodiversity, community engagement, and sustainability in healthcare, this is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact.

Nature Recovery Rangers 

(Three positions available across Nottinghamshire, East & North Herts, Newcastle upon Tyne, Dorset)

As a Nature Recovery Ranger, you will lead local conservation and green space engagement activities at NHS sites, helping to improve biodiversity and create therapeutic outdoor spaces for patients, staff, and the wider community.

About the role

This is a unique opportunity to lead hands-on nature recovery and conservation projects within NHS sites, helping to create healthier, greener spaces for staff, patients, and local communities. The role involves developing and delivering green space engagement activities, such as tree planting, food-growing initiatives, and habitat creation, while working closely with NHS partners to design site-specific biodiversity improvements. The ideal candidate will have experience in conservation, habitat management, or ecology, strong community engagement skills, and the ability to lead and inspire volunteers. A passion for biodiversity, sustainable land management, and integrating nature into healthcare settings is essential.

Senior Nature Recovery Ranger

(One position available – based in any of the four project locations)

The Senior Nature Recovery Ranger will take on additional responsibilities, leading the team, overseeing project delivery, and securing funding for further initiatives.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to take a leadership role in delivering and expanding a pioneering nature recovery programme within NHS sites. The role involves line management and project support for a team of Nature Recovery Rangers, overseeing the delivery of conservation projects and community engagement activities across multiple locations. The Senior Ranger will also take the lead on funding applications and bid writing to sustain and grow the programme, while working closely with NHS partners to embed nature recovery into healthcare settings.

The ideal candidate will have project management and leadership experience, a strong background in conservation and habitat management, and the ability to coordinate community engagement and volunteer activities. A passion for biodiversity, sustainable land management, and healthcare sustainability is essential.
