Call for Case Studies

Tuesday, 10 December, 2013

The Centre for Sustainable Healthcare has been commissioned to develop a report on waste in the NHS by the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges. The report is intended to be high impact and demonstrate specific financial and environmental savings that could be achieved by the NHS through reducing waste in the system. The report will use and outline case studies throughout a variety of patient journeys which highlight different aspects of waste in the system such as wasted resources, procurement, staff time, low value interventions, inefficient processes etc. (It will not include tangible waste as another report is being performed in this area). The financial and environmental costs of the waste for each case study will then be extrapolated and used to indicate all the savings that the NHS could achieve for each patient journey then for the whole health system. If you know of any case studies you would like to put forward for inclusion in this report, please contact daniel.maughan@sustainablehealthcare.org.uk
