Committed to accountability and transparency
Accountability and transparency
At the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare, accountability is not just a responsibility—it’s a core value that guides everything we do. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of transparency, integrity, and effectiveness in our work. We want our supporters, partners, and the general public to understand exactly how we operate, the impact of our programmes, and how their contributions are used to advance our mission
Our commitment to accountability
Our commitment to accountability means that we hold ourselves to rigorous standards of governance and financial stewardship. As a leading advocate for sustainable healthcare, we believe in being fully transparent about our decisions, actions, and outcomes. We strive to make all information about our operations accessible and understandable, ensuring that everyone can see the impact we are making in the sector and beyond.
Why transparency matters?
Transparency builds trust. We want you to feel confident that every contribution—whether financial, volunteer time, or expertise—is making a meaningful difference. To demonstrate this, we share our goals, strategies, and outcomes in our Annual Impact Reports, which outline not only our achievements but also the challenges we face and how we address them.
Our approach: efficient and effective use of resources
We take great pride in being recognised as one of the most effective and efficient organisations in the field of sustainable healthcare. Since 2008, we’ve been working to connect healthcare professionals, patients, and communities with the crucial links between health and the environment. Our mission is to reduce healthcare’s resource footprint and empower the sector to lead in climate action—through decarbonising health systems and building climate-resilient services with stronger ties to green spaces.
Our work is centred around two flagship programmes:
- Clinical Transformation: Helping healthcare providers transition to sustainable clinical practices through innovative solutions and lean processes that reduce carbon emissions while maintaining high-quality care.
- Green Space for Health: Promoting the integration of green spaces into healthcare settings, providing therapeutic environments that support mental and physical wellbeing, and fostering connections between healthcare services and nature.
Our performance and recognition
Our strong track record in programme delivery and financial stewardship has been recognised by numerous independent evaluations and partners. We adhere to best practices in operational efficiency, meaning that a high percentage of our funding goes directly into programme work, ensuring maximum impact.
Annual reports and financials
Our Annual Impact Reports provide a comprehensive overview of our activities, financials, and programme outcomes. These reports are not just a reflection of our achievements but also a tool for us to continually assess and improve our work. By sharing these insights, we aim to provide a complete picture of how we are using resources and advancing our mission.

Ensuring impact: our monitoring and evaluation
To remain accountable, we rigorously track the progress of our programmes and initiatives. We have established robust systems to measure and report on our impact, ensuring that we stay aligned with our goals and continuously learn and adapt.
Get involved and stay informed
We value your input and engagement. We encourage you to stay informed, ask questions, and get involved in our efforts to create a more sustainable future for healthcare. Together, we can build a system that benefits both people and the planet.
