Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs
The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) is a UK government department responsible for environmental protection, food production and standards, agriculture, fisheries, and rural communities.
How DEFRA has supported CSH.
CSH has been awarded funding from the Government’s Trees Call to Action Fund for our Green Space for Health programme. This will enable us to plant 21,000 trees over three years. It will also allow us to offer site-specific ecological advice to 15 healthcare sites, and support NHS sites in expanding, enhancing and conserving woodlands and making wider green space improvements to increase the social and ecological value of NHS grounds.
The Trees Call to Action Fund was developed by Defra in partnership with the Forestry Commission and is being delivered by the Heritage Fund.
