The Heritage fund is the largest funder for UK heritage. Using money raised by National Lottery players, we distribute grants from £10,000 to £10million to support projects across the UK that connect people and communities to their heritage, and it distributes heritage funding on behalf of the UK and devolved governments.

Heritage can be anything from the past that you value and want to pass on to future generations. Understanding, valuing and sharing our heritage brings people together, inspires pride in place and supports local economies.

How the Heritage Fund has supported CSH.

CSH has been awarded funding from the Government’s Trees Call to Action Fund for our Green Space for Health programme. This will enable us to plant 21,000 trees over three years. It will also allow us to offer site-specific ecological advice to 15 healthcare sites, and support NHS sites in expanding, enhancing and conserving woodlands and making wider green space improvements to increase the social and ecological value of NHS grounds.

The Trees Call to Action Fund was developed by Defra in partnership with the Forestry Commission and is being delivered by the Heritage Fund.
