Placements
Collaborate with us on projects to produce practical changes within the healthcare system. This can include managing one of our sustainability networks, working on particular specialties or Green Space projects, creating training materials and making presentations. Placements are conducted remotely, with an opportunity to meet once a month in Oxford.
Student electives
Students in the health professions are invited to join us for a credited elective (30 hours per week for 3-8 weeks). Students in non-clinical degrees are welcome to join a placement during term holidays.

“During my elective, I worked on a ‘Greener Surgery in Maternity Theatres’ project and developed a course on ‘Nature and Healthcare.’ These experiences boosted my academic skills and allowed me to contribute to sustainability in healthcare—aligning perfectly with my career interests.”
Evie Banham. Final Year Medical Student, June 2024
How it works
Induction
Once accepted, you will be sent a list of preparatory activities. On the Induction date that you have chosen you will join an online meeting with the Placements Lead to discuss your interests and training needs.
Weekly timetable
Once you have completed our flagship online course you will begin working on projects with CSH staff. Every Thursday at 4.45 pm we meet online to discuss our work. New projects are assigned at that time; for full-time placements it is not uncommon to work on several different projects each week.
