Launching the Green Gastroenterology Challenge 2026

The Centre for Sustainable Healthcare (CSH) is delighted to launch the Green Gastroenterology Challenge 2026, a national programme supporting gastroenterology teams to lead practical action on sustainable healthcare.

Six multi-professional teams will be selected to take part in this fully supported Challenge. Teams will receive expert mentoring from CSH to design, deliver and evaluate sustainable quality improvement (SusQI) projects that improve patient care while reducing environmental impact.

Projects will focus on real-world challenges within gastroenterology services, with carbon reduction estimated using robust analytical methods. The Challenge will conclude with a national online Showcase Event and publication of an Impact Report sharing learning across the specialty.

Applications open: Monday 9 February 2026
Applications close: Friday 20 March 2026
