New tools and workshops to improve the living kidney donor pathway

We’re pleased to launch a new toolkit and carbon footprint calculator to support teams in evaluating and improving the Living Kidney Donor (LKD) assessment pathway. These resources are part of the Mapping the LKD Pathway project, supported by The Health Foundation, and developed in collaboration with NHS Blood and Transplant, the UK Kidney Association, and individuals with lived experience.

The LKD pathway plays a vital role in expanding access to kidney transplants, yet it currently varies widely and is often complex and resource-intensive. By redesigning this pathway with sustainability and equity in mind, we can reduce the environmental impact of care, improve donor experiences, and increase access to life-saving transplants.

Now available:

Join our first workshop: Introduction and Overview of Tools
3rd June (12:30–1:30pm)
19th June (12:00–1:00pm)

These free, online workshops will walk you through the tools and offer space to share learning with peers.care, staff engagement, cost-effectiveness, and carbon reduction.
