Sustainability in Healthcare Postgraduate-Level Certificate

An online programme offered by Dublin Dental University Hospital, in collaboration with the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare.

Dublin Dental University Hospital and the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare are offering an online programme of six modules in sustainable healthcare. The course will be delivered from January 2024, online, with both online course work and interactive sessions (delivered out of hours).

Cost: €2,500 for both EU and NEU students

With the rapidly increasing global focus on sustainability, there is a need for healthcare educationalists to up-skill healthcare practitioners to understand sustainability and be empowered to develop sustainable solutions in healthcare.  The aim of the Certificate is to develop leaders in sustainable healthcare who can influence, manage and operationalise systems to develop sustainable healthcare in their own healthcare settings.

This Certificate is suitable for postgraduate students in any healthcare discipline, as well as standalone Certificate for healthcare workers who are interested in developing both further knowledge in sustainable healthcare and the leadership skills to translate this knowledge to practice.

By course end date, a student must submit their portfolio consisting of all 6 projects, as well as all 6 certificates passing the MCQ tests. A certificate in sustainable healthcare will be awarded on passing all components of the course and successful submission of the portfolio. The pass mark for all assessments is 50%.

Admission

  • Applicants must be either a practicing healthcare worker- appropriate qualification (under graduate degree or higher diploma) to undertake a level 9 course or enrolled in a postgraduate health science course in Trinity College Dublin.
  • Applicants must also meet the Trinity English Language requirements – usually an IELTS score of 7 (A minimum of IELTS score of 7 is required in the four domains of reading, writing, speaking, and listening) or TOEFL score of 230 computer based, 570 paper based, 88 internet based across all domains.
