Dental Public Health Fellowships in Sustainable Dentistry - now open to all dental professionals
Following interest from a host of well-qualified candidates, both trainees and non-trainees in dentistry, we have taken the decision to extend the application deadline for the Dental Public Health Fellowships in Sustainable Dentistry, and open the programme to all current registrants with the General Dental Council. The new closing date is 12pm on Thursday 11th June.
The two part-time roles are now open to all dental health professionals nationally with a commitment to championing and leading on sustainability throughout a developing career. Educational supervision will be provided through the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare (CSH), in Oxford. The successful candidates will be supported to identify and undertake relevant projects in Kent, Surrey and Sussex (KSS), which promote the sustainable use of resources in the provision of high quality dental care.
The Fellowships are a prestigious appointment and provide a unique opportunity to develop highly transferable skills in clinical leadership and quality improvement, while gaining a detailed understanding of environmental, social and economic sustainability of healthcare – a paradigm central to the future of dentistry. Fellows will present, where possible, at Public Health England events, Local Authority events, local BDA events and at national dental conferences, and will receive support in submitting work for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
The Dentistry Fellows will be seconded from their current posts one day per week, will be supported alongside fellows from other medical specialties, and will have access to a £1000 study budget.
