Carbon Reduction Plan Consultation
Since April 2024, for all new contracts, the NHS requires suppliers to publish a Carbon Reduction Plan for their UK Scope 1, and 2 emissions and a subset of their Scope 3 emissions in accordance with their NHS Net Zero Supplier Roadmap. From April 2027, this requirement will be extended, so that all suppliers will be required to publicly report emissions, targets, and publish a Carbon Reduction Plan for global emissions of Scope 1, 2 and 3. Net zero is a core part of NHS England’s procurement exercise, and something that cannot be ignored by suppliers.
