We need your help - CSH's Annual Appeal!

Tuesday, 13 December, 2016

Dear Friends, last year, the 2015 Lancet Commission concluded that our response to climate change could be “the greatest global health opportunity of the 21st century”. And during 2016, The Centre for Sustainable Healthcare has grasped this opportunity by opening up discussions on tackling climate change in key clinical areas, such as mental health, nursing and dementia.

With the political upheavals of the past year, and ever shrinking budgets in the NHS, it’s more important than ever that we keep climate change on the healthcare agenda. Will you support us in our pioneering work to galvanise healthcare to tackle its own carbon emissions?

Our annual appeal supports the development of the ideas and insights which drive our work. We have achieved a lot in six years. We started with donated office space, an old computer and a great idea: to find new ways to reach healthcare people and organisations and get them taking action to promote people’s wellbeing and combat climate change. Now we have a team of ten and an international reputation.

It has not been easy. Our insights and groundbreaking programmes - such as our pioneering Clinical Specialties Fellowships - took several years to secure funding. And there is so much more to do! Donations given during this appeal will help to ensure that we are able to push forward with our work in 2017. Will you help us to move forward at this pivotal time? Please click here to make a donation.

With thanks and very best wishes,
