A Warm Welcome to our Welsh Sustainable Ophthalmology Scholar

Alexander was appointed in August 2019 to CSH as the first Welsh Scholar in Sustainable Ophthalmology, sponsored by Thea pharmaceuticals. He is currently a ST6 trainee in wales deanery. Alexander will be involved in rolling out the use of the Sustainable Cataract Surgical Services Auditing tool ‘Eyefficiency’ in the ophthalmology departments in Wales, helping units to improve productivity, cost, and carbon footprint of their cataract care. He will also be contributing to the understanding of how industry can adapt for a lower carbon supply chain.
