We're launching the Sustainability Series!
The Centre for Sustainable Healthcare has been working to inspire and empower healthcare transformation since 2008. In celebration of our 10th birthday we are launching the Sustainability Series, focusing on a different clinical specialty each month.
We are looking to inspire leadership and produce practical changes. To do this we want to empower you by providing examples of how people succeeded in the past, a guide for how to begin, and the evidence and numbers about your field that you can present to others. Our goal is to help you to improve health and deliver ever increasing high quality care whilst being mindful of the resources used.
Each month you can expect:
- A blog providing a snapshot of the specialty, what has been done over the last decade, and what there is still to do at the beginning of the month.
- Following that, a blog covering identified areas of change within the specialty, an overview of past case studies implementing these interventions, and an actionable guide for introducing them into your own practice.
The World Health Organisation has stated that climate change is “the greatest threat to global health in the 21st Century”. However, this is also an opportunity for us to transform the health system for the benefit of patients, staff and the planet. To find out why, read our first blog: We work in healthcare – of course we care about carbon!
