Axis Group supports the NHS Forest
Axis Group, an organisation for security, cleaning and front of house facilities, has become a corporate sponsor of the NHS Forest. Co-ordinated by the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare, the project promotes patients’, workers’ and communities' health and well-being through improvements to green space at NHS sites.
Axis Cleaning and Support Services, formed over 26 years ago, delivers specialist, critical and clinical cleaning, including support for NHS facilities.
In appreciation of the extraordinary work carried out by NHS employees, the Axis Group has committed to plant a tree through the NHS Forest for every new employee they recruit.
Simon Giles, Axis Cleaning Chief Operating Officer & Axis Group Finance Director, said:
“We want to praise and support our NHS by all means available and our support for the NHS Forest is a token of our appreciation and gratitude. The dedication and resilience shown by NHS workers during the past difficult year is admirable, and we hope to pay something back by investing in the long-term health and wellbeing of staff and patients.”
Carey Newson, the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare's Green Space for Health Programme Director, said:
“We are grateful to Axis Group for their support for the NHS Forest. This will help NHS organisations in planting trees at their sites or close by, with environmental and therapeutic benefits for patients, staff and the wider community.”
