Elaine has enjoyed over 35 years’ experience working in clinical, senior management, and executive board-level roles within the National Health Service across the UK, with her last role as CEO in the North of Scotland. Elaine now works independently as Leadership Faculty for the Institute of Healthcare Improvement and Lead European Faculty forCatalysis, currently coordinating and supporting Executive Leaders across Northern Europe. As a committed practitioner of Quality Improvement, Elaine is a certified Lean Leader and was Executive Sensei for the NHSE/I Vital Signs programme. She was awarded a fellowship by the International Society for Quality in Healthcare (ISQua) and is a member of QScotland.  Elaine has become increasingly alert to the impact of healthcare on climate change, population health, and pollution and now speaks internationally on these issues.  Elaine was the past Chair of the International Alliance of Water Stewardship where she remains an active board member. She was awarded Fellowship status for her work as Chair of the Greener Health Special Interest Group for the UK Institute of Health and Social Care Management. Elaine is a member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) and a PhD candidate atUniversity College Dublin, researching quality improvement and sustainable healthcare.
